I'm not sure if it is worth trying to keep this blog updated daily. Most days there is very little to say. On the other hand, I know that I am motivated by keeping 'streaks' alive, so perhaps it is useful as a way of making sure that I do some German every day, or at least think about doing some. Today I took my car for its first scheduled service, which meant sitting in a café for two hours waiting for it to be ready. I spend some of the time reading the big German novel that I bought last month in Bologna, Das Kind in mir will achtsam morden by Karsten Dusse. It is not easy. There are a lot of words I don't know, and I always wonder whether I should look them up or just keep reading and hope that I am getting enough of the sense. Mostly I do the latter. It is going well enough so that I am finding the book quite funny. Today I finished chapter 1 (of 50) and I'm on page 29 (of 476). Lingvist 76%. Drops. Lingq.
